Turn on light board (you may need to turn on the monitor also).so that you don’t mess up anything that is critical to their show** Lighting To Turn On System Quick Start Guide **Please communicate with the current show in the zoo before making changes to any tech systems including sound, lighting etc. It can be used for three things: to wirelessly control the iMac in the booth with a personal computer, to wirelessly control the sound board with its iPad or another device, and to wirelessly control the lighting board with the Zoo iPad or another device. The password for wireless access is the same as the iMac login. It does not have access to the internet, however it is very useful for controlling our equipment wirelessly from anywhere in the Zoo. In the Zoo we have our own local network (ZooNet). The computer can drive multiple projectors at once, although you will have to borrow the others from other sources. We have one digital projector than can be placed almost anywhere in the Zoo and can be controlled via QLab. Creative freedom is truly unlimited with all of these options! Projection If you want to get a head start on programming your show, you can download ETC Nomad which is free software for computers that allows you to program a show on your own computer anywhere you are! You can then transfer your showfile to the board in the booth. Your production will most likely want to move the lights around which you are welcome to do. We have many accessories for the incandescent lights including an assortment of color gels, various gobos, a dmx controllable iris, an iCue (a dmx controllable mirror which turns a stationary fixture into a moving light). These are arc source lights (the bulb uses a controlled electric arc to produce light) with 12 color chips and various rotating gobos. We also have two Martin MAC 250 Entour moving lights. These are LED wash lights that can be programmed to any color. In addition we have 6 ETC Selador Vivid 11″ LED fixtures. Up to four of any Source 4 fixtures can be wired to a single dimmer circuit (hence Source 4). 36º fixtures and 12 ETC Source 4 Par fixtures. We have 24 dimmer channels that run all of our incandescent lights. Our lighting system is controlled by an ETC Element light board. We have a wireless Shure Beta 58A wireless handheld microphone and a Shure SM58 wired handheld microphone with a stand, which can both be connected to the sound board and routed through any or all speakers. The possibilities are endless! Microphones The eight output channels can be fed to our four main QSC K10 speakers, Behringer Eurolive VQ1500D subwoofer and four smaller Electro-Voice S-40 speakers in any configuration that you choose. The sound board has 16 inputs and 8 outputs and is completely controlled by an iPad (so it can be controlled wirelessly). Sound is fed from the iMac through an M-Audio M-Track Eight, which is a usb audio interface, then into our Mackie DL-1608 Sound Board. You can then bundle the showfile on your personal computer and transfer it to the booth iMac, select the proper output (M-Track Eight) and you should be ready to go. and use pro features once you load the file onto the iMac) and building the bulk of the show from home. We recommend that sound/projection designers take advantage of this by downloading QLab on their personal computer (the basic version is free, then you can add effects etc. We run QLab with the Pro Audio and Video add-on modules. We also recommend that you keep a copy of your showfile on a flash drive or your personal computer as a backup. This keeps the shows’ files separate and allows us to quickly get rid of your stuff once you strike if we need to. Please save everything you do to your show’s folder on the iMac desktop. You will get your login once you have shown your budget to the Zoo Treasurer. Each show will get the login password to the Zoo booth iMac.
